It's one of those days...

It is a day for reverance, thought and forward thinking. I wonder if anyone in 1887 would have foreseen the turmoil our planet is in now when they created these ads? We have come so far, but also not very far at all...

It was a much simpler time. We moderns seem to complicate everything. Perhaps that is why I prefer the Victorian era to now.

I don't know. They were not so many years removed from the Civil Warc, so they were not strangers to turmoil.

Lovely ads!

I so understand your sentiment. What would people have thought if they could see the future with things such as "keep off the grass"
water and air costing money!! Electricity costing money! etc..
what a crazy world!!

Great post! Love the images. Doesn't it make you wonder why the cost of seeds is SO much higher today?

Fresh Flower seeds comes up as a JPEG, that my Mac believes is a program.

The file “1.jpg” could not be opened. file may be damaged or in use a file format that preview doesn't recognize.

From this date backward, this is the error message I get.

Thanks for checking. D :(
